Glossary Terms

Activated

activation process which happens when dried cannabis is subjected to heat to activate the cannabinoids and produce products such as oils, capsules, and edibles.

Agricultural Hemp

comes from the Cannabis sativa plant, and is utilized all over the world to create a range of different items both for industrial and consumer use.

Anandamide (AEA)

is a derivative of arachidonic acid that is found in the brain and certain foods (such as chocolate) and binds to the same brain receptors as the cannabinoids (such as THC) derived from cannabis.

Anti-inflammatory

is an anti-inflammatory drug or substance that reduces inflammation (redness, swelling, and pain) in the body. Anti-inflammatory medications interfere with molecules in the body that cause inflammation. They are used to treat a wide range of illnesses.

Autoflower

a type of hemp plant that flowers automatically without the need for the 12/12 light cycle. It has a shorter life cycle and produces fewer flowers than other varieties, but it is still valuable for its CBD content.

Broad spectrum CBD oil

is a middle ground between CBD isolate and full spectrum CBD oils. It lacks THC, as well as other chemical compounds. Because it doesn't include all of the beneficial chemical components, you may expect to obtain some of the entourage effect's advantages.

Cannabidiol (CBD)

is a chemical component in the cannabis plant that comes from either marijuana or hemp. CBD products aid individuals with symptoms such as chronic pain, sadness, sleeplessness, overthinking, and anxiety attacks.

Cannabidiol (CBD) tincture

a solvent-based extract is made from alcohol. The natural compounds of the cannabis plant are extracted with high-proof alcohol as a solvent.

Cannabidivarinic Acid (CBDVA)

is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid present in Cannabis that is said to have anti-inflammatory effects.

Cannabigerol (CBG)

is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid present in cannabis. CBG is being studied for its potential antibacterial, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties that may be useful in medicine. Cannabigerol produced from hemp is legal in most countries because it contains less than 0.3 percent THC.

Cannabis

is a term used to refer to three plants with psychoactive effects: Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis.

CB1

The term CB1 refers to cannabinoid receptor type 1. CB1 is expressed mostly in the brain, central nervous system, lungs, liver, and kidneys.

CB1 receptors

are found in high levels in several brain regions and in lower amounts, more widespread. These receptors mediate the psychoactive effects of cannabinoids.

CBD Oil

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is a kind of cannabis-derived product. It's a cannabinoid, which is a naturally occurring chemical in marijuana plants. CBD, despite its origin from marijuana plants, does not create a "high" effect or any type of intoxication — it's caused by another cannabinoid called THC.

CBD Oil Capsules

are pills containing cannabidiol (CBD) oil. CBD capsules are more potent than other delivery methods, making them ideal for people who need higher doses of CBD. CBD oil capsules may take longer to take effect than other methods of taking CBD oil, such as sublingual tinctures.

CBN/Cannabinol

CBN is also known as “the sleepy cannabinoid in old weed.” It is a “sleeper” cannabinoid. It's not as popular as THC or CBD and is currently less in style than terpenes.

Distillate

is the product obtained from the distillation process. It is a vapor that has been condensed into a liquid.

Endocannabinoid System (ECS)

is a biological mechanism in the body that aids in maintaining and regulating numerous bodily functions.

Full Spectrum

is a cannabis extract that contains all of the cannabinoids, terpenes, esters, flavonoids, and other naturally occurring chemicals in cannabis plants.

Full-spectrum CBD

is a form of cannabidiol (CBD) that contains all of the extracts naturally produced in cannabis, including minute traces of THC, the psychotropic component associated with marijuana's "high."

Full-spectrum hemp

Full-spectrum CBD is an extract containing other compounds of the cannabis plant, such as terpenes and cannabinoids.

Hemp

is a variety of Cannabis sativa cultivated for industrial or medical purposes, and it may be used to produce a wide range of items.

Industrial Hemp

refers to an agricultural product, whether growing or not, that is limited to varieties of Cannabis sativa L. and any part of that plant, including the seeds of the plant and all derivatives, extracts, and resin extracted from any part of the plant, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration below 0.3% on a dry weight basis.

Isolate

Isolate is the purest form of a cannabis/hemp plant extract, containing only cannabinoid molecules, and comes in several forms, including powder and liquid. Isolates can be used to create oils and tinctures or added to foods or beverages.

Neuroprotectants

are drugs that are used to prevent damage to the brain or spinal cord caused by ischemia, stroke, convulsions, or trauma. Some must be taken prior to the event, while others may help for a time after. They utilize a variety of strategies for action, but frequently decrease the harm induced by endocannabinoids indirectly or directly.

Non-Activated

CBD which has not been exposed to an acidic process and contains all of the cannabinoids in their natural state. Non-activated CBD is less potent than activated CBD but has a longer-lasting effect.

Shucking and Bucking Hemp

is the process of removing flowers, buds, and leaves from stems. Depending on the individual's drying configuration and real-estate constraints, this can be done before or after drying the hemp biomass.

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)

is the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana that generates a "high" sensation and can also contribute to brain damage.

Tinctures

are a concentrated form of hemp extract made using a simple yet effective alcohol extraction method. They are a convenient way to take CBD, as they can be easily added to food or taken under the tongue.

Unflavored CBD

typically contains just CBD oil and MCT oil. Unflavored CBD products are designed for those who want to enjoy the potential benefits of CBD without the taste of hemp or other added flavors and scents.
